ETF First Half Calls

More than 6 months have passed since I made my international ETF picks and here's how they've fared. I suppose readers might construe this post as boastful. HA! Of course I wasn't smart enough to put my money where my mouth was. Let that be a lesson to my future self to show more conviction!

Now for some (delayed) second half picks:

- XLF December 33 calls

- GS below 200 ( I was eyeing this up intra-day on Monday at 175!)

-DB below 150

Financials have gotten their tails kicked since Bear Stearns told the investment community that the sky is falling. I think some of Bear's peers are being unfairly punished. Of course I am not alone with this investment thesis, but a good idea is a good idea. I'll see just how good 6 months from now.

On Hiatus.

My first blog post now in 4 months and it's, well... embarrassing! I really should have kept updating, but events (mostly positive) in my own life have kept me away from blogging for the most part. Sure I could have made time, but I rather enjoyed my blogging hiatus. And with summer in full swing in Milwaukee right now, who's got time to write about what's going on in the boring markets?

Well they're not boring anymore!! Now that i've got more free time, at least until CFA Exams start owning my life again, I will try to keep my blog up to date. Now I'm off to bask in the summer sun and contemplate upping my 401k contribution in light of the 500+ point haircut that the Dow received last week. I think I will.

regards,
Mike
