Google keeps innovating (philanthropy?!)

Google is used to playing one-upmanship with Bill Gates and Microsoft. This time the battle ground is not the world of search or productivity platforms, but philanthropy. I think you would agree with me though that it will be hard to Trump (no reference to the less-philanthropic Donald) the 30+ billion in assets that the Gate's foundation and Warren Buffet have at their disposal. Google, in typical Google fashion, is now innovating the world of Philanthropy by forming a partnership with Rwanda and Kenya to aid students of those countries by supplying the Google apps software suite for free. Great Job!!

Give a man a PC with Windows XP and he will be productive for one update cycle, teach a man to use Google Apps and he will be productive for a lifetime...You catch my drift?

No disrespect to Messrs. Gates or Buffet, but I like the idea of providing a tremendous educational and productive resource at little marginal cost to Google. I think (and hope) this represents the future direction of philanthropy. So in 5 years if we have a sudden spike in Computer Science graduates in those 2 countries we can thank Google. Bravo...
